We are currently looking for

Master's Thesis Worker, Breaker Boom R&D

to join Normet breaker boom R&D team. This is full time and fixed-term position with flexible hybrid working model. Office location would be ideally Lahti, Finland. The position is planned to start during February 2024 continuing until August 2024. Later on, we are open to discussing further possibilities to continue as a part of our R&D function.

Breaker boom R&D team is responsible for engineering and technology developing of breaker boom solutions for mining & construction customers globally. The team is responsible for developing automation solutions for rock breaking systems to achieve safer and sustainable solutions for future mining. Normet as a company is a world-leading, innovative global technology company operating in 30 countries. Normet group employees over 1700 professionals worldwide with the level of 500 M EUR net sales.

In this position, you will participate in our automation development process by developing the machine functionalities of our breaker boom systems. Responsibilities and tasks may be adjusted based on the competence, studies and subject of personal interest. Guidance and time for the master's thesis will be ensured.

We are looking for candidates with the following competencies:

- Programming experience in at least one of the following languages and environments: Matlab/Simulink, Codesys, C, C++, Python
- Knowledge of ROS 1/2
- Experience in Robotics
- Good command of spoken and written English
- Documentation skills
- Caring, courageous and committed attitude.
