We are looking for a skilled and proactive Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client’s flotation equipment team in Espoo. This is a permanent position, and the selected candidate will be recruited directly to our client company. The role combines hands on mechanical design with broader product engineering responsibilities, offering an opportunity to work with heavy industrial equipment used globally in demanding process environments.

About the Role
As Mechanical Design Engineer, you will design and develop mechanical components and assemblies used in flotation equipment. The work focuses on heavy steel structures, requiring solid engineering judgement, understanding of manufacturability and the ability to produce high quality design documentation.
In addition to core mechanical design, you will contribute to product lifecycle tasks such as design updates, change management, documentation control and collaboration with supply chain, production and quality. This role suits someone who enjoys both detailed 3D design work and taking broader technical ownership over product functionality and improvements.
Key Responsibilities
As Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies used in flotation equipment. Your work will focus on heavy steel structures, requiring strong engineering judgement, understanding of manufacturability and the ability to produce accurate and high quality design documentation. In your daily work you will model components and assemblies in SolidWorks, maintain documentation through SolidWorks PDM, and use Evonia as part of the product data and configuration management process. In addition to design work, you will contribute to product engineering tasks such as product improvements, change management, technical problem solving and collaboration with different engineering functions, procurement, production and quality. The role suits someone who enjoys detailed design work but also wants to be involved in the wider lifecycle and development of the product.
What We Expect from You
You have a structured and solution oriented mindset and enjoy working in a technical environment where accuracy and collaboration matter. To succeed, you should have:
- Experience in mechanical design of heavy steel structures
- Strong skills in SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM
- Familiarity with Evonia or similar engineering/ERP tools
- Good understanding of manufacturing methods and materials
- Excellent command of English; Finnish skills are an advantage
- Relevant technical education (e.g., B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering).
