Test Bay Manager

What you’ll do:

The Test Bay Manager is responsible for the effective management, optimization, and development of Test Bay facilities. This role ensures efficient short‑term scheduling, maximized utilization, and long‑term capacity planning to support multiple departments. The position also contributes to enhancing customer experience, and advancing test and reporting automation.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Test Bay Operations & Planning
 - Coordinate and manage scheduling of Test Bay & equipment usage across all users.
 - Drive optimal utilization of Test Bays to maximize capacity and efficiency.
 - Monitor performance metrics & KPI's, such as efficiency and utilization rates.
 - Develop and manage long-term Test Bay capacity planning and support resource (manning) planning.
 - Support delivery of projects within Test Laboratory area.

 

Continuous Improvement & Technology
 - Lead continuous improvement initiatives and technical enhancements to optimize Test Bay performance.
 - Coordinate Test Bay automation initiatives, including FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) results automation.
 - Assess and manage the impact of changes, upgrades, and maintenance activities on Test Bay operations.

 

Safety & Compliance
 - Ensure a safe working environment within the Test Laboratory area in compliance with all applicable EHS and regulatory requirements.
 - Demonstrate and enforce a strong understanding of Eaton Electrical Safety practices, embedding them into daily operations.

 

Scope & Governance
 - Own the scheduling and usage of the Test Laboratory and equipment, including NPIQ lab area.  Excluding manufacturing testing.
 - Maintain and enforce standard work, usage of Eaton processes and other operational frameworks.

 

Coordination & Decision Support
 - Analyze Test Bay usage conflicts and provide data-driven recommendations for prioritization.
 - Collaborate cross-functionally across all areas of the Business to balance competing demands and ensure business priorities are met.

 

Qualifications:

  • BSc in Electrical Engineering or on other appropriate Science
  • Experience in managing processes or projects

 

Skills:

  • Fluent Finnish and English language skills
  • Electrical Safety knowledge
  • UPS knowledge
  • Analytical skills, concise and clear communicator, ability to influence cross functional teams.
