HR Generalist

People Function is providing strategy-driven and efficient people support for Fortum business. Our centralized People Services team, located in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Poland and Denmark, is the primary contact globally in daily personnel matters. Our Business People Partners in turn are supporting the divisions' and business area management teams on strategic and business critical personnel matters. People Function also consists of subject matter specialists on areas such as Compensation & Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Development and Wellbeing. We have 70 people professionals in 8 different countries working together to enable everything within the hire to retire lifecycle.

About the role

We are looking for a People Services (HR) Expert to our team, located in Espoo. This is a fixed-term position until March 2023, starting as soon as possible.

People Services is a global team of HR experts located in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Poland. We provide system and administrative support in all processes related to the employment life cycle; for example recruitment, leave of absence, performance and bonus as well as international transfers and mobility. As People Services Expert, you will be providing service and guidance to managers and employees in operational people processes, support in reporting, maintaining employee and organizational data, as well as handling employment related documents.

As you will be working with both HR colleagues, managers and employees in many countries, your daily work will be done in both Finnish and English.

What we are looking for

We expect you to have a relevant education, e.g. bachelor degree comprising studies on HR matters as labour law, resourcing, HR systems, or similar. Ideally, you have a good understanding of people processes and related systems. Most importantly, you are eager to learn new skills and develop yourself.

Furthermore, to be a successful candidate: you are comfortable and knowledgeable with IT systems and tools, you tolerate occasional routine and are accurate with details. In addition, you are used to dealing with confidential information, you are service-minded and a team player. Your Finnish and English are fluent.
