Purchasing Manager

Job summary

We are looking for a Purchasing Manager, Nuclear to strengthen Fortum's Corporate Procurement team. As a Purchasing Manager, you shall be responsible for the procurement in dedicated projects within our Nuclear Generation business. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that procurement activities are executed in a timely, cost-effective, and compliant manner. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and identifying cost savings opportunities. Additionally, you will ensure that all procurement activities adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and safety requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts to achieve the best value for the company
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to support Nuclear operations
  • Ensure that procurement activities are executed in compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety requirements
  • Identify and implement cost savings opportunities across the procurement process
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of goods and services
  • Monitor procurement performance and provide regular reports to senior management
  • Manage procurement-related risks and develop contingency plans as needed

Qualifications

You have an academic degree in a relevant field such as technology or business. You need to have strong collaboration and project management skills. Furthermore, you have strong problem solving and analytical skills, proven negotiation skills, commercial thinking and the ability to create and execute strategies from scratch. You should also have experience related to either consulting or project procurement or project management. You have the ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities. In addition, you are fluent in oral and written Finnish and English.
