Join Scandic's Finance Shared Service Center
We are looking for a Financial Controller to join our Accounting & Financial Control team. The team consists of 14 colleagues located across Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.
As a Financial Controller, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team supporting hotel operations and collaborating across borders. This shared service model is designed to harmonize workflows and enhance efficiency across the finance function.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to combine hands-on accounting responsibilities with process improvement and collaboration in an international environment.
This position is located in Finland, with the office in Espoo, Tapiola. At Scandic we believe strong collaboration, learning and development are best supported through regular in-person interaction and therefore primarily work from the office.
About the Role
As a Financial Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensuring compliance with local accounting regulations, statutory reporting requirements and company policies
- Supporting financial audits and tax reporting processes
- Analyzing and resolving accounting discrepancies
- Supporting continuous improvement and standardization of accounting processes
- Contributing to the development of our common Finance Shared Service Center
Our primary systems include D365 Finance, Board, and Basware, with support requests managed via ServiceNow.
Who You Are
To succeed in this role, you are a structured and proactive professional with a strong accounting background and attention to detail. You enjoy collaborating with others, taking ownership of your work and driving improvements.
We believe you have:
- You hold a degree in finance or a related field
- A few years of relevant experience within accounting, financial control or reporting
- Good understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Experience working with ERP systems and Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- The ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Fluency in English
Experience from a larger organization or a Shared Service Center environment is considered an advantage.
