HW Engineer, RF Power Amplifier

We are now looking for an HW Engineer to join our R&D team in Oulu, Finland. As RF Power Amplifier Engineer you will be focusing on designing, implementation, and verification of the RF power amplifier for the radio downlink operation with the newest PA (power amplifier) technologies. You'll be enabling Nokia 5G RF products to meet the specification and providing minimized energy consumption for 5G network of Nokia customers - and beyond.

 

You will be collaborating closely within product programs, suppliers and other R&D teams driving the innovative RF power amplifier design for radio products.  You are surrounded with a team including RF power amplifier designers and professionals in digital pre-distortion area supporting you all the way. HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

  • Be responsible for PA technology development, PA design, simulation, and verification
  • Create RF PA specification, prepare testability and documentation
  • Provide manufacturing support including problem-solving
  • Measure practical downlink RF performance with real HW and radios - even over the air! 

 



 

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Must-have:

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering or similar
  • Good knowledge of RF Power transistor technologies
  • Practical experience of RF testing (including calibration) and experience of RF simulation tools (ADS)
  • Understanding of Digital Pre-Distortion operation
  • Motivation to learn new with effective teamwork skills and good communication skills in English (both written and spoken) 

 

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience of RF Power Amplifier designs and topologies
  • Experience of LabView
  • Experience of Matlab and Python coding
  • Knowledge of SMD assembly
