Finnair Cargo is a modern air cargo carrier offering fast, high-quality transport between Asia, Europe and North America, through its Helsinki hub. Finnair Cargo specializes in temperature-controlled cargo, such as pharmaceuticals, seafood and other perishables. The operations at its state-of-the-art COOL Nordic Cargo Hub at Helsinki Airport are designed using modern technology and data monitoring systems to radically improve transparency and efficiency of air cargo shipping. We are now looking for a development-oriented
 

INVENTORY MANAGER

to strengthen our Cargo Revenue Management & Pricing (RMP) team. In this role you will be responsible for maximizing the network revenue contribution by independently managing capacity forecast and optimizing cargo revenue in your area. As Inventory Manager you will be steering sales and pricing to ensure network optimal revenue contribution. You will deliver revenue-, market- and competitor analysis and suggest other initiatives to improve business profitability such as managing block space agreements.
 

We are looking for a business-minded person with enthusiasm to use one's analytical skills to work on complex business challenges. You might be the person we are looking for if you enjoy both turning numbers into implications for the business and working together with others to reach the best results.

In this role, you will also contribute to an IT system renewal project from implementation to go-live. We are seeking an agile professional with a development-oriented mindset and strong change management capabilities. Previous experience in managing process development initiatives and/or ICT projects will be considered a valuable asset.

Main responsibilities:

  • Managing Flight Capacity Forecast output.

  • Independent decision-making and continuous discussion and negotiation with demand management.

  • Ensuring up to date forecast performance in appointed area of responsibility.

  • Monitoring of competitive environment and changes in the demand patterns.

  • Ownership of the minimum flight price acceptance levels.

  • Maximizing revenue by guiding sales with the use of data and comprehensive analysis of appointed area of responsibility.

  • Following up KPIs and suggesting corrective actions.

  • Managing soft & hard block arrangements.

  • Contributing to an IT system implementation project, including development of the cargo revenue management processes and ways of working. Possibly taking more ownership in a stream lead role.

 

Our expectations:

  • Previous experience in the air cargo industry, preferably from revenue management and pricing function.

  • Strong business mindset with solid analytical skills.

  • Ability to analyze and integrate detailed numerical information from various sources and clearly communicate their implications to business.

  • Development minded approach to complex business challenges.

  • Good overall business and industry understanding.

  • Understanding the impact of fares and fare rules to demand (price elasticity) and topline revenue.

  • Strong teamwork, negotiation and influencing skills.

  • Ability to make decisions independently, prioritize and organize one's workload.

  • Master's degree or equivalent from a relevant field (such as Econ. / Tech.).

  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.

                                                                                                    

We also appreciate:

  •  Previous experience in managing process development and/or ICT projects.

  • Previous experience from leading or contributing to cross-functional change management.

  • DW/BI development skills.

  • Programming skills: Excel, SQL.
