Business analyst, Payment & Core Banking
We are looking for a modern, AI-enabled Business Analyst to support core banking development in a Finnish banking environment. We are looking for a professional with expertise in either foreign payments or Financial Crime Management (AML, sanctions, and fraud prevention). This role combines business analysis, domain expertise, regulatory understanding, and the practical application of AI and automation.
You will work across business, technology, risk, and compliance functions to translate business needs into clear requirements and measurable outcomes.
You will be part of a highly skilled team of Business Analysts and technical experts and you will report direct to Director Consulting Services.
The primary work location is Helsinki, but we work flexibly remotely from anywhere in Finland.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to business analysis within your domain of expertise, whether in Foreign Payments or Financial Crime Management, translating business and regulatory requirements into implementation-ready specifications.
- Facilitate workshops with stakeholders across product, operations, compliance, risk, IT and vendors.
- Analyze and document business requirements into clear actions.
- Support testing, release readiness, and post release validation.
- Maintain strong traceability from business objective to requirement, test case, and control evidence.
- Work with data and technical delivery teams to improve payment data quality, traceability and operational reporting.
- Support AI enabled delivery: including work order requirement analysis and drafting.
What we expect from you
- 5+ years of experience in business analysis and banking sector
- Experience in payments, digital banking, financial crime management, or process development (incl. practical experience with fraud prevention, AML monitoring, and sanctions screening) OR
- Foreign Payments, including experience with one or more of the following: SWIFT, TARGET2, IBAS, or SEPA
- Strong understanding of payment processing, clearing, settlement, exception handling, and core banking systems.
- Excellent analytical and structured problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and solution design.
- Ability to write clear user stories, business requirements, process models, and acceptance criteria.
- Experience working in agile delivery environments
- Familiarity with APIs and data integration concepts.
- Fluent English is required. Finnish language skills are highly valued, particularly in local banking environments.
Please note that expertise in both domains is not required. Strong experience in either foreign payments or Financial Crime Management is sufficient.
