Clarinet/bass clarinet

The Lahti Symphony Orchestra invites applications for the position of Clarinet/Bass clarinet starting on 19th of August 2024.

The clarinetist in this position is the primary bass clarinet player in the orchestra. The musician plays in the orchestra as well as chamber music groups, and maintains the capability required by orchestral literature. We appreciate the experience of similar tasks, good co-operation and interaction skills.
The salary, including the individual pay component and recording supplement is 3005 - 3245 € per month.

Audition repertoire and running order for the audition:
1st round
W.A. Mozart: Clarinet Concerto KV622
D. Schostakovich: Symphony no. 8 op.65, mvt 5 "Allegretto" (bass clarinet)

2nd round
W.A. Mozart: Concerto for Bassoon and piano KV191, mvt 1 "Allegro", transcr. for Bass clarinet
J. Sibelius: Symphony no. 1 op.39, mvt 3 "Scherzo" (2nd clarinet)

The excerpts of the following rounds will be announced as the audition proceeds.

Audition on the 28th of May 2024
- The orchestra will choose the participants to the audition based on the information in the
applications
- Invitations to the audition will be sent during Tuesday 30th of April 2024
- The auditions will be held at the Kalevi Aho Hall of Lahti Music Institute (Hämeenkatu 4, Lahti) on Tuesday 28th of May from 11 a.m. onwards.
An interview may be included in the audition.
