We are looking for a visionary professional to lead the development of our data platform and drive a data-centric culture. This role combines deep technical data architecture with hands-on people leadership. The Role:
In this role, you will be the technical owner and architect of the Smart Office Solutions Data Platform. You will drive the development of scalable data architectures and ensure that our data infrastructure provides maximum value for both our products and business stakeholders.
Beyond the technical scope, you will act as a Team Lead for a small team of data experts. You will report to our Software Engineering Director and work closely with engineering leadership and product managers to create technology roadmaps that turn complex telemetry data into actionable product outcomes.
As a Data Lead, you will:

Drive Data Architecture: Lead the design and implementation of our Snowflake-based data platform and scalable data pipelines, ensuring a reliable foundation for our digital services.

Build customer-facing Data Products: Drive the development of advanced analytics and data features that deliver direct value to our customers, working closely with Product Managers and Software Developers to turn data into products.

Architect the Future: Partner with engineering leadership to define long-term technology roadmaps, ensuring our data strategy aligns with the company's growth and evolving tech stack.

Lead and Coach: Act as a mentor and lead for our data experts, supporting the team's technical growth

Ensure Data Excellence: Establish high standards for data quality and governance, ensuring our data is reliable, secure, and ready for high-impact use.

Drive Data Culture: Lead the adoption of data-driven decision-making, helping both our team and the entire company leverage data more effectively.
Your Experience and What Makes You a Great Fit:
You have a "visionary but hands-on" mindset: you can talk strategy in the morning and dive into dbt models in the afternoon. We are looking for a technical lead who can turn raw data into customer value while leading our long-term data strategy and building the scalable platforms to back it up.

Architectural Expertise: Strong experience in designing and maintaining Snowflake-based data warehouses using dimensional modeling (e.g., Kimball).

Engineering Stack: Proficiency in Python and SQL is a must. Experience with modern tools like dbt and Rivery is highly valued.

Proven Delivery: A track record of driving large-scale projects to the finish line and a clear vision of how data can create real competitive advantage

Analytical & Data Science Understanding: Familiarity with statistics and machine learning, and the ability to build solutions that support advanced analytics from large-scale data masses.

Leadership Potential: A desire to share your expertise, support your teammates' growth, and help the team maintain high technical standards.

Cloud Expertise: Familiarity with modern cloud platforms (preferably AWS)

Communication Skills: The ability to explain technical architectures and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Language Skills: Fluent English is required; Finnish skills are considered a plus.

Willingness to be regularly present at our Tampere HQ (at least once every two weeks) to stay connected with the team and our products.

Practicalities:
This is a full-time and permanent role based in Tampere, Finland. We operate on a flexible hybrid model. However, due to the nature of this role, we expect a consistent presence at our Tampere HQ. The start time in the role is as soon as possible. We will fill the position as soon as we find the right candidate, so we hope to hear from you soon.
