Hardware Delivery Technician

We are seeking skilled Technicians or Engineers to support quantum computer hardware installations, including on-site customer deliveries. As a core member of our team, you will play a key role in installing IQM’s cutting-edge on-premises quantum computer products at customer facilities worldwide.

Quantum computers are multidisciplinary systems involving electronics, cryogenics, mechanical components, and software subsystems. You will receive comprehensive training to build these systems and apply your expertise as part of our delivery team in various customer locations.

Primarily, your focus will be in hands-on assembly, but role can be later extended to broader responsibilities such as planning assemblies, refining delivery practices, and improving related documentation or tools.


What will I be doing?

  • Conduct on-site assembly of quantum computer systems at customer sites.
  • Pre-assemble mechanical and electrical assemblies before shipment.
  • Perform measurements and quality assurance.
  • Maintain installation related documentation.
  • Provide feedback for product and process improvements for internal stakeholders.
  • Uphold health and safety standards in daily work.


What skills do I need?

  • Proven experience in mechanical assembly.
  • Degree in micro-mechanics, a bachelor's in engineering, or an equivalent field. Relevant vocational education combined with applicable work experience will also be considered.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • A strong sense of responsibility for deliverables.
  • Proficiency in English for effective communication of technical details within a diverse, cross-disciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication, IT, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be willing to travel and work abroad for extended periods lasting up to 3-4 weeks.
