We are seeking a Head of Material Testing and Validation who will be accountable for leading the testing and validation team, focusing on wearables material development. This includes ownership of laboratory and field-testing strategy, centralized test data, and technical authority for validation methods.

You lead a team of Test Engineers, manage an in‑house R&D laboratory for rubber, and coordinate a network of test facilities internally and externally. You define test procedures, ensure methods, equipment, and data quality meet development needs, and maintain traceability of validated results. You support decision‑making across gates and domains through reliable test insights and build long‑term testing and validation capabilities. This position reports to the Head of Consumables Technology.

What you'll do

  • Lead and develop a team of Test Engineers specializing in material testing and validation
  • Own testing and validation standards, procedures, and centralized knowledge with a focus on wear excellence
  • Oversee laboratory and field-testing activities for wear part materials in minerals and aggregates applications
  • Manage the in‑house R&D laboratory for rubber and coordinate activities across a network of test facilities internally and externally
  • Ensure engineering discipline, technical excellence, and data quality in all testing and validation activities
  • Maintain and improve the centralized test database, ensuring traceability and access to validated results
  • Provide reliable test insights that support decision‑making across project gates and technology domains
  • Ensure compliance with governance policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards in testing and validation
  • Prepare documentation and technical evidence for audits, reviews, and compliance checks
  • Align testing and validation efforts with project needs, business requirements, and long‑term technology strategy

Who you are

  • Strong expertise in material testing and validation, with a focus on wear part materials for minerals and aggregates processing
  • Several years of experience in laboratory and field testing of rubber, polymers, and metals
  • Strong track record in developing and implementing test procedures, methods, and standards
  • Experience in managing R&D laboratories and coordinating laboratory networks
  • Ability to lead technical teams and collaborate with stakeholders in Technology, Business Lines, and Supply Chain
  • Experience in external collaboration with research institutions, suppliers, and regulatory bodies
  • Good communication skills, both orally and in writing, fluent in English
  • Ability to make decisions and provide authoritative guidance based on validated test results
  • Cooperative mindset with strong influencing skills and the ability to build trust across the organization
  • Strong hands‑on mentality and working style with a mindset to drive results and deliver
