Process/Plant Design Engineer

Your role and the team

At Elomatic, youll join one of our dedicated customer teams. The Food, Feed, and Fertilizer sector is one of our strategic focus areas, and we are committed to delivering innovative solutions to our customers. While your main responsibilities will be in this sector, youll also have opportunities to work on projects in the process, pharma, and pulp industries.

As a Design Engineer, your expertise can be in either process or plant engineering. Ideally, you are familiar with hygienic design principles, food GMP and EHEDG guidelines, and have experience in food, beverage, or pharmaceutical environments where cleanability and contamination prevention are critical. Your design assignments will primarily focus on concept and feasibility stages, but you may also work on later design phases. Understanding the tasks involved in designing projects is essential to ensure the functionality of plant entities.

In this role, youll collaborate closely with project team members and customers. For smaller assignments, you may even take on a customer-responsible role. Whether you have years of experience or just a few, wed love to hear from you.

Depending on your background, your role can include one or both of the following:

- Hygienic Layout & Piping Designer - responsible for designing hygienic piping systems and layouts for food, beverage, or pharmaceutical production environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Hygienic Process Designer - combining process engineering and development expertise with strong technological know-how. You will design process systems for the sector, ensuring compliance with EHEDG and GMP standards. Experience in process assessments and technology evaluations is a plus.

What helps you succeed in this role

- Relevant technical education, such as a Masters degree in process engineering, chemical engineering, food technology, or mechanical engineering
- Experience in process and/or plant engineering, whether from shorter projects or a longer career
- Understanding of industry-related process technologies, production processes, and unit operations
- Strong communication skills - fluent Finnish and good English, both spoken and written; other language skills are a plus
- Positive and flexible mindset, creative problem-solving, and innovation skills
- Customer-focused approach and ability to see the big picture
- Team spirit, collaboration, and knowledge sharing
- Willingness to travel
