Valmet's Environmental Solutions supplies complete flue gas cleaning solutions to meet the needs of various power and process industry sectors. We offer extensive air emissions control solutions from wet and dry flue gas cleaning and heat recovery to flue gas desulfurization, NOx reduction and carbon capture solutions. In Valmet's Environmental Solutions Technology Unit, we develop, sell and deliver products to industrial and power generation customers globally.
We are now looking for Lead Engineer / Product Engineer, Process Engineering to work in delivery projects, sales and product development primarily at our Tampere office. In this position you act as a technical expert for flue gas cleaning and carbon capture technologies.
In sales projects your role is to participate in defining technical concepts, equipment dimensioning and in preparing technical specifications. Also, you will prepare and be responsible of cost calculations in co-operation with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
In delivery projects you will continue the engineering in close co-operation with other Valmet disciplines, sub-suppliers and customers. Towards the completion of the project, your main task is to give theoretical training for the customer and support commissioning.
Expectations
- M.Sc. in a relevant technical field (e.g. energy, chemical, or process engineering)
- Solid experience from relevant industry (energy, pulp & paper, emissions control, carbon capture)
- Experience or strong understanding of carbon capture technologies (e.g. PSA, TSA, amine scrubbing and hot potassium carbonate (HPC) technologies) is an advantage
- Result‑oriented, customer‑focused team player with strong communication skills
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written. German and Finnish language skills are a plus.
- Willing to travel globally on a regular basis
Experience in plant-level integration, process simulation, and understanding of equipment used for flue gas and product gas compression as well as off‑gas decompression is also considered beneficial.
This position requires proactive approach in planning and prioritizing in changing circumstances, therefore you also have an ability to effectively prioritize your own work and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
