We are seeking a Product Technical Support Expert, Hydromet Automation, to join our Technical Support team in Beneficiation, Dewatering & Hydro BL in Services. Our team is providing support for Flotation, Thickeners, and Hydrometallurgy technologies, and therefore, we also have diverse needs for different disciplines, such as EIA, mechanics, hydraulics, and process know-how. Your focus will be on hydrometallurgy EAI. We are looking for a candidate with experience in hydrometallurgy technologies and processes. As a Product Technical Support Expert, you report to the Senior Manager of Technical Support FT&H.
The location for this position is in Espoo, Finland, and we are also happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options. Please note that the position requires some local and international travel occasionally.
What you'll do
- Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting, process knowledge, technical incidents, operation, and maintenance.
- Specialize in specific technology areas to support site operations and address technology-related inquiries or problems.
- Lead severe incident investigations (tier 2).
- Participate in technical warranty claims and handle customer complaints.
- Support installation and commissioning teams (when applicable).
- Act as a primary trainer for internal and external technical training, including certification programs.
- Mentor and coach team members within the organization.
- Take responsibility for training material content.
- Offer expertise support for problem management, technical sales, connected services, R&D, and product development.
- Contribute to Technical Knowledge Management in your technology area (e.g., service workbooks, manuals, resolution databases).
Who you are
- Engineering degree or a similar degree in electrification and/or industrial automation
- Knowledge and experience in PLC programming is required. Other programming skills are seen as a great asset
- Knowledge and understanding of hydrometallurgy equipment and processes
- At least a few years of relevant industry experience
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
- Accountability and problem-solving skills with an ability to manage multiple assignments, priorities, and deadlines
