Job Summary

Join Elematic in leading a landmark industrial investment project! Are you ready to take ownership of a major international investment project and become the face of Elematic in Vietnam?

Elematic is looking for an experienced Project Director to lead the local execution of one of the company's most significant international projects in Vietnam.

Join Elematic in leading a landmark industrial investment project in Vietnam. As Project Director, you will take ownership of local execution, serve as Elematic’s senior on-site representative and lead the project from initiation through engineering, permitting, tendering, construction coordination, installation, commissioning and final handover.

As the key link between the customer organization in Vietnam and project teams in located Finland and Germany, you will have a unique opportunity to influence project outcomes, build long-term customer relationships and contribute directly to the success of a landmark industrial investment.

Your role

As Project Director, you will act as the primary senior customer interface in Vietnam and be responsible for creating a strong and effective bridge between all parties involved in the project. You will provide local leadership for Elematic's activities in Vietnam and ensure that customer-side execution, local engineering, permitting, construction readiness, installation and commissioning interfaces are successfully coordinated throughout the project lifecycle.

You will maintain an integrated view of the overall factory investment, lead critical project interfaces and proactively address challenges before they evolve into larger commercial, contractual or operational issues. While the Equipment Project Managers in Finland and Germany remain responsible for equipment design, manufacturing and delivery, you will ensure that all local project activities, stakeholders and prerequisites required for successful project execution in Vietnam are aligned and progressing according to plan.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as Elematic's senior representative towards the customer and key decision-makers in Vietnam
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with customer leadership, local partners and subcontractors
  • Leading and coordinating Elematic's local consultants, service providers and subcontractors and ensuring that their activities are aligned with the overall project objectives, schedule and contractual framework
  • Leading local project execution interfaces across engineering, permitting, construction readiness, installation and commissioning activities
  • Leading and coordinating local tender preparation, tendering, supplier and subcontractor selection activities together with the relevant project teams and local consultants
  • Monitoring schedules, site readiness, risks and project performance and driving corrective actions when required
  • Identifying scope, change and contractual risks at an early stage and helping protect the project's agreed commercial and contractual boundaries while maintaining a strong customer relationship
  • Ensuring successful coordination of installation, commissioning and project completion phases
  • Facilitating effective collaboration between teams in Vietnam, Finland and Germany and ensuring that critical issues and decisions are escalated appropriately

What we are looking for

We are seeking a senior project professional with substantial experience in complex industrial projects and the ability to operate confidently in an international environment.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Extensive experience in international industrial investment projects
  • Strong project leadership experience in factory, manufacturing, EPC, EPCM or comparable project environments
  • Experience working on-site in Asia, preferably in Vietnam or Southeast Asia
  • Proven ability to lead consultants, subcontractors and external project partners in a multi-stakeholder environment
  • Practical experience in tendering, supplier selection and contract administration
  • Strong commercial and contractual awareness
  • Solid understanding of project scheduling, interfaces, risk management and change management
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English

Experience in precast concrete, industrial production facilities or capital equipment projects is considered a strong advantage.

Who will thrive in this role?

We are looking for a leader who combines strong project expertise with sound judgement, cultural awareness and the confidence to take ownership.

You know how to establish trust and credibility with senior stakeholders while remaining firm when protecting contractual boundaries and project interests. You are proactive, independent and comfortable making decisions in a dynamic environment where not every situation comes with a ready-made playbook.

You are also someone who understands that successful project leadership is as much about managing relationships as it is about managing schedules, risks and deliverables. You can adapt to different cultures and ways of working, communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and maintain momentum even in challenging situations.

Why join Elematic?

This is a rare opportunity to take a highly visible leadership role in a strategically important international investment project. You will become Elematic's senior representative in Vietnam, taking ownership of the local execution side of a major industrial investment while working closely with key customer stakeholders and international project teams. The role offers significant responsibility, autonomy and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on the successful delivery of a landmark industrial facility.

The position is based in Vietnam for the duration of the project and therefore requires both the willingness and ability to work on-site in an international environment over an extended period.
