Ukraine offers significant opportunities for Finnish companies in both the short and long term. Finland supports Ukraine directly and indirectly in several different ways, and Business Finland is part of this Finnish support network. Business Finland and the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry KODA are about to launch a three-year project funded by the Interreg Central Baltic program to help Finnish and Estonian companies enter the Ukrainian market.

SENIOR ADVISOR

We are now looking for an experienced export and international growth expert to strengthen our project team. At Business Finland, a project team of 4 people is working on the project, and we also work in close cooperation with an Estonian partner. You will be part of the Internationalization and Growth Advisory Unit.
 

WHAT YOU GET TO DO 
 
 The project team's task is to provide advice and other support to companies to enter the Ukrainian market, as well as to assemble Finnish business groups based on the needs of Ukraine. The project covers a wide range of industries in accordance with the needs of Ukraine and the strengths of Finland and Estonia. At this stage, key sectors include energy, infrastructure and construction, security and defense technology, health and manufacturing. 

We are working in the project together with Finnish, Estonian and Ukrainian networks. In addition, we collaborate with European and global funding and support organizations. Key Finnish partners include Team Finland actors, such as the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the Economic Development Centres, Finnfund, Finnvera, Eastcham, the Confederation of Finnish Industries and regional development companies. 

Your main tasks include: 

  • Advice to companies to enter the Ukrainian market 
  • Identifying sales channels and partners in Ukraine
  • Organizing visits to Ukraine
  • Compilation of market and financial information 
  • Organizing various events
     

WHO AND WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience and expertise in export and international business
  • Experience in the business environment of Eastern Europe, preferably Ukraine
  • Knowledge of the key sectors of the project 
  • An independent approach to work in a challenging environment
  • Result orientation 
  • Ability to lead an international network 
  • Excellent collaboration skills 
  • Fluent oral and written English skills. Proficiency in Finnish, Ukrainian or Russian is an advantage.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

This is a temporary position. We aim to start employment in October 2026, the end date of the employment will be 30.4.2029. The position is located along good transport connections in Ruoholahti, Helsinki. It is also possible to work partly remotely.
