Wärtsilä is an innovative technology company known for being a forerunner in the Marine and Energy markets. Every day, we - Wärtsilians - put our hearts and minds into turning Wärtsilä's purpose of enabling sustainable societies through innovation in technology and services into reality. Our ultimate aim is to provide increased value to both our customers and society. New, game-changing ideas and continuous improvement have been part of our DNA since 1834. Together, we can create new business opportunities and a more sustainable future that we can all be proud of.

We want to transition the world towards a decarbonised and sustainable future. By pushing the boundaries of engineering and technology, we can make it work. We are always on the lookout for future-oriented talent - want to join the ride?

As part of Wärtsilä's Marketing and Communications Brand Center of Excellence, we are looking for a Senior Brand Designer (Visual).

As the Senior Brand Designer (Visual), you are responsible for shaping and delivering the visual and graphic expression of the brand across physical touchpoints. As a classic graphic designer and visualist, you will ensure that products, events, and marketing assets consistently reflect the brand identity, visual language, and quality standards.

The key stakeholders for this role include the Head of Brand, Brand Creative Lead, Brand Operations Lead, Product and Industrial Design team, Marketing and Communications, business area marketing teams, event and facility teams, external production partners and agencies, as well as internal stakeholders requiring brand design support.

This is a permanent position and the possible locations for this role are Helsinki or Vaasa (Finland), Gdansk (Poland) or Trieste (Italy).

Key responsibilities include:

Marketing assets:

  • Driving the design of PowerPoint presentations and graphic and strategic materials to ensure high‑quality, on‑brand outputs across the organisation
  • Designing and producing visual marketing assets, such as print materials, brochures, signage, and branded collateral
  • Ensuring all marketing assets are visually consistent, high quality, and aligned with the brand identity and messaging

Digital brand touchpoints: products

  • Owning and delivering brand‑related design work for physical products
  • Ensuring strong alignment between brand identity and product appearance, graphics, and visual details
  • Collaborating closely with industrial design, product and engineering teams to integrate brand requirements
  • Ensuring brand consistency and quality across physical product touchpoints

Physical brand touchpoints: events

  • Supporting the Brand Operations Lead in the design and execution of physical events
  • Providing graphic and visual design support for event environments, signage, materials, and branded elements, ensuring the visuals align with brand guidelines and contribute to a coherent overall brand experience

Other design work:

  • Supporting ad hoc design needs from across the organisation, providing hands‑on design execution and visual guidance where needed
  • Supporting brand initiatives, campaigns, and internal projects with high‑quality physical and visual design expertise

Position requirements:

  • Strong art direction eye combined with hands-on execution and the ability to set visual tone and quality standards for marketing and design assets while personally delivering high-quality work across the full production chain
  • Understanding of industrial design and the ability to apply brand design within physical product contexts
  • Experience with spatial and environmental design with the ability to translate brand identity into three-dimensional spaces (showrooms, office environments, exhibition stands, vessel interiors), not only 2D assets
  • Strong understanding of brand systems, visual identity, and consistent brand application
  • Ability to operate effectively in a complex, matrixed organisation
  • Proven ability to collaborate directly with industrial design and engineering teams to integrate brand expression into physical products by understanding material, form, and manufacturing constraints
  • Experience in managing external production partners (print houses, signage vendors, exhibition builders), including quality control, specification writing, and production oversight
  • Portfolio demonstrating work in industrial or B2B environments, including event booths, product branding, facility branding, vehicle/vessel liveries, not only marketing collateral
  • Ability to develop and maintain physical brand standards (material palettes, signage systems, environmental guidelines) that scale across global locations and touchpoints
  • Strong project management skills for physical deliverables with long lead times, multiple vendors, and cross-functional dependencies (Procurement, Facility, Events)
