Senior Lecturer in English Language Communication

We are seeking a Full-time Senior Lecturer in Communication in English language

for Metropolia Business School, beginning 1.8.2024 or as per agreement.

We are now looking for a new colleague for our English Language and Communications team. Your primary responsibility will be to teach and develop communications related subjects at Metropolia Business School, both at the Myyrmäki Campus and online. You will also provide thesis guidance and language supervision mostly at bachelor level, but possibly also for master's students.

We require a suitable master's degree (English communication, Linguistics, teaching English as a foreign language or an appropriate alternative). In addition to an inspiring resumé and presentation skills, you have strong knowledge of both written and oral communication, community and business communication, and cross-cultural communication.

We value a professional, enthusiastic approach and strong pedagogical skills with the ability to guide and advise different types of learners and international students. Mastering online pedagogy is an advantage. A strong, professional business background, competence in business communications and an interest in career coaching is also an advantage.

In addition to teaching and thesis supervision, the tasks may include RDI, continuous education work and tailored courses for customer organizations, which you tackle with equal enthusiasm and an active approach to development, utilizing your networks and building new ones. You are a team player who is energized by student and colleague encounters. Teacher qualification requirements are a master's degree and a minimum of three years' work experience. In addition, pedagogical qualifications are required but can be completed within three years from the start of employment. The pay and conditions of service are determined in accordance with the collective agreement for universities of applied sciences of the Finnish Education Employers (FEE / SIVISTA).
