We are looking for Business Controller for Valmet Packaging and Paper Finance team.
We are looking for a proactive and business-minded Business Controller to join our Packaging and Paper Finance team in Finland. You will have an important role in both supporting and challenging project management in complex international projects. Monthly reporting routines will keep your feet on the ground, but the varying project challenges should have you reaching for the sky. Your main stakeholders are project managers, unit management, business unit and our finance teams globally.
As Business Controller you will ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial data and reports, but your real added value comes from transforming numbers into justified analysis and questions, helping management on their way to better project margins. In addition to project work you will support unit management with various financial analysis needs.
On top of being responsible for your own project controlling portfolio, you will work closely with the Finance Director to develop, harmonize and document various project controlling processes, tools and operating methods. You are able to build and update Power BI reports quickly based on requests, adding your own insight and value.
This is a fixed one‑year position and well suited also for a young professional. The location will be Tampere, Jyväskylä or Vantaa.
Expectations for you

Master's degree in finance, business administration or industrial management.

Experience in controlling tasks and a solid understanding of project financials.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.

Interest and experience in developing processes, tools and ways of working.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts clearly.

Proficiency in English. Finnish is considered an asset, and other language skills are beneficial as we operate projects around the world.

Proficiency in financial software and data analysis tools such as Power BI, as well as advanced Excel skills. Power BI setup and development experience is expected/highly valued. Previous experience with Infor LN and HFM is appreciated.
