We are now looking for an experienced HDMI Firmware Team Lead to strengthen our R&D team in Espoo. This is a hands-on leadership role where you combine deep embedded expertise with people leadership.
In this key role, you will:
- Lead and develop the HDMI firmware team (1:1s, coaching, performance)
- Own planning and execution of firmware development in collaboration with PMs and Architect
- Break down features, prioritize tasks, and manage backlog
- Drive high-quality engineering practices (code reviews, CI/CD, testing, documentation)
- Make and approve key architectural decisions within your domain
- Identify technical risks early (technical debt, certification, supply chain)
- Act as the main firmware interface toward PMs, Product Owners, HW/FPGA teams and customers
- Mentor developers and act as the go-to expert in complex technical challenges
- Collaborate directly with key global customers in joint R&D projects
You will directly influence how next-generation HDMI test solutions are built and delivered to world-leading electronics companies.
What We’re Looking For
You are a technically strong embedded professional who enjoys enabling others to succeed. You combine credibility in low-level firmware with emotional intelligence and structured leadership.
Leadership & Collaboration
- 3+ years of experience as a Team Lead
- Strong coaching, mentoring, and performance management skills
- Ability to create psychological safety and high accountability
- Experience aligning firmware work with hardware, product, and compliance constraints
- Clear communicator who can explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders
Deep Embedded Expertise
- 8+ years of hands-on embedded/firmware development
- Strong C/C++ skills (bare-metal, RTOS, embedded Linux)
- Solid understanding of real-time systems, interrupts, scheduling, and timing analysis
- Experience debugging hardware-software interactions (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, JTAG/SWD, schematics)
- Familiarity with common interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, USB, Ethernet, etc.)
- Experience with modern firmware practices (CI/CD, testing, secure boot, OTA, coding standards)
Considered a Plus
- HDMI, DisplayPort or USB-C expertise
- Altera Nios II experience
- Qt or cross-platform tooling
- Agile methodologies
