We are Helsinki Shipyard - a company designing, building, and commissioning tailor-made, high-class passenger vessels and icebreakers for extreme conditions. Our roots date back to 1865, and we proudly continue the story of Helsinki's own shipyard, in the heart of Helsinki.

Our specialty lies in vessels that operate on the polar seas, but we can build everything from smaller yachts to complex multi-purpose icebreakers. Since November 2023, Helsinki Shipyard has been a part of Group Davie together with SATA Shipbuilding in Pori and Chantier Davie in Lévis, Quebec.
We are now looking for an Interior Designer to join our team of 20 interior designers. Our Interior Designers work across many different areas, including cabins, public areas, crew quarters, galleys, stairs, and elevators-not to mention the various structures and surfaces throughout the ship. The team typically works on 2-3 ship projects simultaneously.
In this role, you will create interior layouts while ensuring that architectural design concepts are translated into practical, technically sound solutions. You will be responsible for coordinating and defining material specifications, ensuring that systems and materials are accurately registered in the material management system, and contributing to the basic design phase of interior projects. You will also support detailed design.
You will work closely with Interior System Designers and with designers from, for example, the HVAC and Hull departments.

To succeed in this role, you have:

A degree in Interior Architecture

Experience with AutoCAD and 3D design tools

Experience in the marine industry or shipbuilding is appreciated but not mandatory

Excellent English skills due to our international colleagues, clients, and suppliers

Strong organizational skills and the ability to independently manage your own work
