IT professionals - KONE Corporation
We are looking for a Lead Data Scientist to join the KONE IT Enterprise Data & Analytics Unit within the Advanced Analytics IT Product Team. This is a 1-year fixed-term position, with the possibility of extension. Our team builds datadriven, machinelearning and GenAI-powered solutions that help global business functions make faster, smarter, and more strategic commercial decisions.
In this role, you will provide scientific and technical leadership for advanced analytics and GenAI solutions that support pricing intelligence, risk ranking, and commercial decision‑making at scale. You will shape analytical and GenAI strategy, guide technical standards, and ensure that cutting‑edge models translate into measurable business impact.
As a Lead Data Scientist, you will:
-
Provide analytical and GenAI leadership for high‑visibility pricing and risk‑ranking solutions used across global sales and commercial organizations
-
Shape the modeling, GenAI, and system design strategy, balancing innovation with robustness, explainability, and business adoption
-
Own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of advanced analytics and GenAI solutions-from problem framing and experimentation to production deployment and monitoring
-
Act as a trusted partner to senior business stakeholders, translating complex analytical and GenAI concepts into actionable insights
-
Drive best practices for model governance, explainability, reliability, and transparency
-
Collaborate closely with ML engineers, data engineers, platform teams, and product owners to deliver scalable solutions on Databricks and AWS
Key Responsibilities
-
Lead the design, development, and production deployment of GenAI‑powered analytics and decision‑support products
-
Define and own GenAI system architectures on AWS and Databricks, ensuring scalability, security, and operational excellence
-
Design and implement agentic AI workflows, including multi‑step reasoning, tool‑using agents, and decision orchestration
-
Design and deliver Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions for enterprise analytics and knowledge‑driven use cases
-
Evaluate, benchmark, and continuously optimize GenAI models and systems across quality, latency, cost, robustness, and hallucination control
-
Establish and maintain best practices for GenAI system monitoring, observability, and production readiness
-
Translate complex business problems into GenAI‑enabled analytical solutions in close collaboration with product, platform, and engineering teams
-
Provide technical and scientific leadership in GenAI, applied ML, and cloud‑native analytics across the Advanced Analytics team
-
Stay current with advances in LLMs, transformer architectures, and agent frameworks, applying them pragmatically to real business products
What We Are Looking For
Experience & Qualifications
-
6+ years of experience in applied data science, advanced analytics, or machine learning in production environments
-
6+ years of hands‑on experience working with AWS and Databricks in real‑world systems
-
2+ years of experience designing, deploying, and scaling GenAI‑enabled products used in production
-
1+ year of practical experience with agentic AI systems, including agent frameworks, tool calling, or multi‑step reasoning pipelines
-
Strong understanding of RAG architectures, including embeddings, vector search, indexing strategies, and retrieval pipelines
-
Solid understanding of transformer‑based models, attention mechanisms, and modern LLM fundamentals
-
Working knowledge of neural networks and core machine‑learning concepts, with the ability to reason about model behavior and limitations
-
Proven experience evaluating and optimizing GenAI systems for latency, accuracy, robustness, hallucination mitigation, and cost efficiency
-
Strong software engineering skills, with a track record of writing production‑quality, maintainable, and well‑tested code
-
Experience working with large‑scale transactional or commercial datasets
-
Experience collaborating cross‑functionally with engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders to deliver end‑to‑end analytical solutions
-
Background in pricing, revenue management, sales analytics, or commercial optimization is highly preferred
-
Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field. PhD is a plus but not required.
What We Value
We value analytical leaders who take ownership, challenge assumptions, and focus on impact over complexity. You enjoy working on ambiguous problems, mentoring others, and ensuring that advanced analytics and GenAI lead to better decisions-not just better models.
Ways‑of‑Working Expectations
-
Work transparently and collaboratively with global stakeholders, fostering trust, psychological safety, and shared ownership
-
Communicate complex analytical and GenAI concepts clearly to both technical and business audiences
-
Take strong end‑to‑end ownership, with a focus on reliability, accountability, and measurable outcomes
-
Demonstrate curiosity, adaptability, and a continuous‑improvement mindset in evolving business contexts
