We are recruiting Naval Architects (Project Engineer / Ship Theory) to our offices in Espoo or Turku (Finland).

Naval Architect - Project Engineer (general arrangement)

The work includes project design/lead and expert tasks, maintaining the general arrangement of the ship, coordinating between different disciplines to have functional general arrangement design, taking a stand on the rules, etc. Therefore, a common understanding and interest in the different spaces of ships and the rules of ship design is very important.

As an expert/lead you will work closely with customers and the authorities.

Naval Architect - Ship Theory (hydrodynamics)

The work includes project design/lead and expert tasks, among others, ship hull shape specification and analyses related to propulsion, seakeeping, maneuvering and other ship theory analyses. Therefore, knowledge of different ship types and capability to design hull forms and making lines drawings is very important. Capability to fairing production level hull shape is a plus.

As an expert/lead you will work closely with customers and the authorities.

What kind of candidates we are looking for

We expect you to have 5+ years' experience in Naval Architect role or work experience in similar tasks. The requirement is an Engineering or Master's degree in Naval Architecture. We expect applicants to have experience in ship design, especially in ship theory. NAPA software know-how is required.

Employees are also often involved directly in the customer interface, so we expect all applicants to have:

- customer service willingness
- active approach and problem-solving capability
- the ability to perceive entities
- teamwork ability but also the ability to act independently
- good written and oral expressiveness
- English language skills, other language skills are an advantage
