We are now looking for a PLM Testing & Quality Specialist will be part of STH Continuous product development team. A PLM Testing & Quality Specialist (Product Data Management/Product Lifecycle Management) is part of the Product Engineering & Lifecycle Management Center of Excellence (PELM CoE) in Wärtsilä IM. The team is responsible for defining and delivering IT services in its domain, managing service, solution and application lifecycles of Wärtsilä's design and engineering systems, calculation and simulation systems, Product configurator systems, Content publishing systems, PLM reports as well as PDM/PLM systems. It develops and manages service specifications, solution roadmaps according to architectural guidelines and creates functional specifications out of received business requirements for internal or external solution development. The team is also responsible for delivering projects within & related to various development projects & programs in PLM & Engineering domain.
A PLM Testing & Quality Specialist is accountable for achieving the goals defined in the yearly action plan in his/her own responsibility area. If you are energetic, good with people and a fun person to work with then you are welcome to apply for this position.

Your role and responsibilities
Mission: Ensure high-quality, user-centric PLM solutions by embedding testing and usability throughout the development lifecycle. Drive early test design, developer enablement, and user validation for Teamcenter customizations in a complex, continuously evolving environment.
Advocate for Usability and Quality through testing
- Act as the voice of user in all development phases
- Validate that user needs are met in specifications, solutions and releases
- Support and consult on operational development projects in the PLM area
- Manage changes, new requirements and documentation within your functional scope
- Support users through User acceptance testing, during and after releases on site
- Conduct User acceptance testing with our Stakeholders
Testing strategy & execution
- Define test strategy, create test scenarios & test execution plans for features, workflows and integrations
- Identify, collect and prepare relevant test data in repository
- Creating test reports and dashboards with relevant Entry and exit criteria for test events
- Manage and facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) as an integrated part of overall testing
- Drive systematic and insightful documentation about the test findings
Automation & Continuous Improvement
- Developing and managing Test automation using UI Path or other tools for PLM Solution & modules with virtual team
- Conduct root cause analysis for incidents and lead quality improvement initiatives
- Monitor quality KPI's and evolve testing practices for efficiency and reliability
- Maintain and continuously develop documentation for user flows and guidelines
Deliver effective Release communication & Stakeholder enablement
- Organize demos, communicate changes clearly, create release notes and guidelines collaboratively and support users post-release
- Ensure stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the refinement, testing and release cycle
By following directions and framework set, provide a significant contribution as a subject matter expert for development and total delivery of a solution in optimal alignment with business requirements. Related tasks typically include:
- Solution area roadmap definition and documentation
- Requirements specification (functional requirements) and review of implementation specifications
Qualifications/to be able to succeed in the position we expect you to have:
- Education: B.Sc. or M.Sc., Degree in Information Technology, Engineering or related field
- Solid understanding of PLM systems, preferably Siemens Teamcenter
- 6+ years of Experience in Product lifecycle management area and Engineering process knowledge
- Hands-on experience with PLM usage and configuration basics
- Good understanding of Design for Manufacturing and engineering processes
- Proven ability to coordinate User Acceptance Testing and integrate it with technical testing
- Experience in developing test automation & Process automation (RPA) is an advantage (e.g. UI Path)
- Proven track record in continuous service improvements
- Experience in creating high-quality user documentation and release notes
- Understanding and experience of Agile development practices and Agile UX principles
- Experience in consulting, gathering and analysing customer requirements and turning them into solution designs
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement and management skills
- Excellent collaboration and Presentation skills
- Ability to translate technical language into clear user-oriented content
- Analytical mindset, problem-solving attitude and drive for continuous improvement
- Proactive, collaborative and comfortable working between business and technical teams
- Passionate about creating great user experience and ensuring quality in the product development
- Wärtsilä business knowledge is a great advantage
- Fluent in Finnish and English (spoken and written)
- Ability to work onsite in Vaasa and maintain close contact with business users
