We are currently seeking full-time Project Engineer to join our dynamic and rapidly growing team of professionals. In this position, your work will revolve around system design and project implementation. You won't be working alone, and while the job requires a high degree of independence, you'll have support from colleagues around the world. Our office is in Kotka, Finland.
**Your Role**
As a Project Engineer, you will play a key technical role in developing the system design; preparing tender proposals; creating system documentation; installing and commissioning the System; performing preventive and corrective maintenance and providing technical support as requested by the customer.
**To be successful in this role, we expect you to have the following skills and qualifications:**
1\. Technical skills:
- Networking fundamentals deep knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), telecommunications network topologies and equipment (routers, switches, firewalls). Ability to configure, monitor, and troubleshoot a network. Understanding of cybersecurity concepts, access control, encryption, and threat mitigation.
- Strong understanding of computer hardware, including servers, storage systems and peripherals. Knowledge of the Windows Server operating system and Active Directory. Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Technical documentation development of design documentation. Knowledge of graphic SW (AutoCAD, MS Visio).
- Installation and Configuration - proficiency in installing and configuring various IT systems and components.
- Troubleshooting and repair - strong ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues, including hardware and software malfunctions.
- Radio electronic repair skills and good knowledge of measurement tools (SWR meter, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.).
2\. Experience:
- Practical experience in IT roles, especially those involving system administration tasks.
- 3 years of experience as a systems design engineer in related fields.
3\. Education and Certifications:
- While practical experience is valuable, a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is a significant advantage.
- Relevant certification is also highly valued (like Cisco CCNA/CCENT, Microsoft MCSA, Radar Systems, Radio Management Systems, Radio Transceivers, Working at height, Electrical Safety, etc.).
4\. Soft Skills:
- As we operate in an international market, excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential.
- Proactive problem-solving, analytical skills, excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel around the world up to 50% of time.
- Adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning staying up to date with the latest technologies and best practices in the IT field is essential.
