We are looking for a proactive and organized Project Engineer to join our client's project organization. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership, coordinating different stakeholders, and developing their career towards project management.
You will work as a consultant through Barona Engineering. The assignment is initially fixed-term for one year, but there is a strong possibility for a longer-term collaboration.
About the role
As a Project Engineer, you will support the planning and execution of technical projects while working closely with Project Managers, engineering teams, suppliers, and customers. Your role is to help ensure that projects progress according to plan, communication flows smoothly, and agreed actions are carried through effectively.
The position sits between a traditional Project Engineer and a Junior Project Manager role, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their project career. Depending on your experience and the project scope, you may also have the opportunity to take responsibility for smaller projects independently, and the role may occasionally require travel.
Key responsibilities

maintaining project plans, schedules, action lists, and project documentation

monitoring project progress and following up on agreed actions

coordinating communication between project teams, suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders

identifying and escalating project risks, issues, and schedule challenges

supporting Project Managers in the planning and execution of projects

To succeed in this role, we hope you have:

a relevant technical degree (e.g. Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, Energy Technology, or similar)

experience in technical projects and project coordination

an understanding of project management principles

strong communication and stakeholder management skills

a proactive, organized, and solution-oriented mindset

excellent English language skills
Experience from the energy, industrial, or infrastructure sectors is considered an advantage. Familiarity with the nuclear industry, exposure to hydrogen-related projects or technologies, and Finnish and/or Swedish language skills are also seen as beneficial.
