Senior Manager, Data & Tools / Workday Product Owner

We are looking for an experienced

Senior Manager, Data & Tools / Workday Product Owner

to work in Ponsse People, Safety & Culture team with global developments.

People, Safety and Culture team works as business partner for our business and leads, manages and develops further Ponsse People Processes and systems. We have launched Workday globally in recent years, and it supports now our people processes globally. Inside of People, Safety and Culture organization we have Data, tools and reporting -team, to which we are now seeking experienced Senior Manager to lead the team and act as a Workday Product Owner. The role is not just limited to Workday development; it will actively support also other tools and process developments linking to the People & Safety areas and works in close collaboration with Ponsse IT team. One of the responsibilities is also to manage the external parties and partners in this specific area. For us at Ponsse our People & Safety tools and processes are integral part of the employee experience and management systems for our leaders. In this role you will be part of the People and Safety Leadership team, and you will report directly to the Chief People, Safety & Culture Officer.

We are in the journey to have globally harmonized tools and processes. We have done good progress over the past years, but have still some work to do, hence this position offers a unique opportunity to be part of the agile, development oriented, fun and energetic team, where you can truly be part and also lead the HR tools global development. This year we aim to have few interesting projects ahead and we would be happy to discuss those more in a call.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure the maintenance of Workday HCM solution and inbound/outbound integrations together with the team - product ownership.
  • Facilitate Workday development roadmap in collaboration with the People & Safety Leadership team colleagues, collecting the needs from People Excellence process owners and facilitating the prioritization process.
  • Ensure great employee experience, user and business centric approach in everything we do.
  • Control related budget and scope together with external provider, managing the external partners with his/her own area.
  • Lead release management and change request approval process for the projects.
  • Work in close collaboration with IT to coordinate priority management for other IT related projects.
  • Manage and develop data security and product security processes.
  • Develop the practices of reporting and data accessibility for the HR colleagues and business leaders.
  • Participate the strategic planning within the People & Safety Leadership team and support Group HR in different planning preparations.
  • Lead, develop and guide the Data, tools and reporting team ensuring good working practices and great team spirit.

We are looking for an experienced, energetic and results-driven candidate with:

  • Passion for data and tools, especially Workday and passion for developing world class people processes and practices.
  • B.Sc or M.Sc in business or engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience from leading Workday project or being part of developing Workday and other HRIS solutions in global context.
  • Several years of work experience in HR or in the similar type of roles in HR or IT, having practical understanding and experience in key people process, data management and reporting in global environment.
  • Proven track record of leading HR system projects with a keen understanding of the project management disciplines, PMO practices and best practices as well as good experience of collaboration with IT.
  • Additionally, you are collaborative, easy to work with and you have ability to take the initiative and follow things through in a systematic way.
  • Leading and managing the change is a way of life rather than a problem to solve.
  • Excellent communication skills both in English and in Finnish.

Agile ways of working experience and understanding the user centric approach would be valued.

Your office can be in any of the Ponsse locations in Finland, or other Ponsse European locations. Your team members are mostly located in Tampere. We are flexible as we are working in hybrid-mode. Some amount of travelling will be required in this role.
