We are now looking for a
SOURCING MANAGER, AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE
to strengthen our Technical Procurement team at Finnair.
In this position, you'll have an independent and demanding role in Technical Procurement, managing sourcing responsibilities in Base Maintenance procurement category which includes a broad portfolio of services (e.g. aircraft maintenance and painting services). You'll work in good collaboration of Finnair Technical Operations stakeholders and your procurement colleagues.
You will execute the procurement category strategy by running tenders (RFx process), preparing and negotiating contracts, participating in Supplier relations management, identifying cost reduction opportunities, reporting achievements and contributing to business case preparations.
You will mitigate and manage external supply risks in your supplier network, evaluate suppliers and keep up to date good market understanding of aircraft (airframe) maintenance services in collaboration of TechOps stakeholders. Your contribution is required in procurement process and tools development. You will lead procurement projects in your area of responsibility and ensure successful implementation of contracts with TechOps.
Good co-operation with external network, cross functional teams and stakeholders is inevitable in this role. Work is occasionally hectic, and it helps if you have good stress tolerance together with strong abilities to manage and prioritize your own daily tasks. As Sourcing Manager, you need to have ability to perform under pressure and handle up-coming situations with customer-oriented can-do attitude.
In this position you will report to the Director, Technical Procurement.
Main responsibilities:

Sourcing responsible for Base Maintenance services procurement.

Managing Finnair's supplier network in named category.

Running tenders (RFI/RFP/RFQ process) and supplier selection.

Evaluate and monitor suppliers and their performance (cost, availability, quality), working constantly on improving total supply cost and availability.

Contract management and negotiations in your own area of responsibility.

Driving continuous improvement in procurement processes including procurement level escalations due to delivery/quality issues.
Our expectations:

Relevant technical or commercial education (B.Sc. / M.Sc. / Economics).

Minimum 3 years of proven experience in sourcing and supplier management.

Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Independent and pro-active way of working within agreed timelines.

Good tress-tolerance and ability to work under high pressure.

Knowledge and experience of running RFI/RFP/RFQ processes.

Understanding of contract law.

Ability to prepare and negotiate high-quality procurement contracts.

Strong spoken and written English. Fluency in Finnish is considered an advantage.

Willingness to travel occasionally.

Knowledge of aviation business and aircraft technology is considered an advantage.
