Associate Product Developer, Paulig Group (Helsinki)

Now we’re looking for an Associate Product Developer to help us further build the future of food and beverages. This is a permanent position based in Vuosaari, Finland, reporting to the Head of R&D, Roasting and Coffee.

In this role you will be supporting R&D on developing exciting new products as well as improving existing products and concepts within coffee & beverages. Your role will primarily involve supporting product developers in sensory evaluations, running, and reporting product tests and supporting product data handling in various systems. To succeed in this position, a background in food technology or a related field is beneficial.

 

Your role in the blend 

As an Associate Product Developer, you’ll support R&D in product development and improvement projects according to the approved portfolio roadmaps. In this role, you will also:

  • Participate and support new product development (NPD) work by following and executing established procedures in product development.
  • Secure that our products have the correct data in our systems (Centric, M3, InRiver PIM etc.) according to R&D responsibilities.
  • Perform benchmarking and quality reviews against our main competitors upon request.
  • Evaluate and describe sensory properties of products and act as test panel leader.
  • Set up and perform relevant tests in EyeQuestion.
  • Take food safety and legal aspects into account in your daily tasks, proactively raising questions to our specialist teams.
  • Stay mindful of our sustainability ambitions and support our journey by applying these principles in your daily work.

 

Your key ingredients

You would be a great fit if your background and experience would look similar to this:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant field, such as food technology. Theoretical understanding or academic coursework in sensory evaluation is highly valued.
  • While experience from development work within the food industry is beneficial it is not a requirement.
  • A team player with a positive and energetic can-do attitude, who also has the ability to work independently.
  • This position suits someone who is flexible, thorough and has a proactive mindset. 
  • You have the systematical approach and accuracy required to learn and handle various systems.
  • A strong interest in learning and developing knowledge and professionalism in the field of sensory science, coffee and beverages.
  • Fluent communication skills, both written and verbal, in Finnish and English: English serves as our official corporate language, while fluent Finnish is mandatory to secure the correctness of product data.
