We are seeking a visionary, hands-on and results-driven Data Architect, Commercial Data, to join our IT Sales and Service team to ensure that our commercial data is managed and aligned based on business needs, architectural principles, long-term value creation, and growing AI capabilities across the organization.
In this role, you will work with Valmet IT Transformation and business colleagues. As the lead for the Commercial Data architecture, you will be a key player in the digital transformation of IT Sales and Service-ensuring data integrity and quality to enable efficient AI driven capabilities that support our sales and business partner operations.

Leads sales and business partner data architecture initiatives across domain roadmaps, ensuring data considerations are embedded in the development of domain capabilities and support scalable analytics and AI-driven business capabilities

Identifies needs for development, analyzes gaps, creates plans, collects requirements and implements with a focus on business outcomes, value creation, scalability and AI enablement

Owns concepts, process and data standard for data domain, ensuring they support automation and advanced analytics requirements

Ensures proper data documentation of the domain data and related processes to enable efficient AI model development and data reusability

Acts as driver in data-domain-related projects and transformation initiatives, including those enabling predictive and generative AI solutions

Responsible for setting domain specific data quality principles and rules

Design data processes, system changes and transition plans together with business- and IT stakeholders, ensuring readiness for AI-enabled business processes

Engages with all relevant stakeholders, including IT, business units, and vendors

Promotes scalable data solution architecture and innovation, including the practical and value-driven use of AI technologies to unlock new business value.

Drives awareness and understanding of AI-related opportunities, risks, and best practices within the Commercial Data domain and the extended stakeholder network

This role may evolve to include team management responsibility for a candidate with leadership potential and readiness
To succeed in this position, we expect:

B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Information Systems, Data, or related field

5+ years of demonstrated experience in data management specifically for sales and business partner data combined with overall business process acumen in a global organization

Strong knowledge of data architecture principles and data modelling

Experience of leading project work, planning and organizing

Demonstrated ability to manage adversity and challenging situations, and deliver results

Understanding of modern data management, governance technologies, and applied AI trends

Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize

Genuine interest in following data, AI, and analytics technologies and applying them pragmatically in business

Excellent communication skills in English, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills

A collaborative mindset and the ability to develop cooperative relationships and influence across organizational boundaries
Location & Reporting
This role can be based at any major Valmet location in Finland (Vantaa, Tampere, Jyväskylä) or Pune, India. You will report to the Director, Sales and Service Domain.
