We are looking for an Financial Controller, Asset accounting to join our Financial Services team in Helsinki.
In this role you will be part of a team responsible for VR financial services, including accounting, reporting and analysis.
You will focus on asset accounting and reporting, supporting asset life cycle in VR Group including investment planning and approval guidance, working closely with business control teams as well as the team responsible for VR rolling stock.

Main responsibilities include:
- Fixed asset accounting activities across daily operations and month-end closing.
- Providing technical accounting knowledge, data understanding, controlling perspective of SAP Asset Accounting and investment follow-up tools.
- Providing technical FAS and IFRS accounting support to finance colleagues and business stakeholders
- Pro-actively developing, documenting and proposing process improvements in the area of Investment life-cycle management.
- Representing finance and controlling in investment life-cycle related projects.
- Supporting investment project managers in both planning and approval process for investments as well as in investment system information updates including all VR asset classes
- Responsibility for monthly and yearly closings, preparation of financial statements and tax filings for named entity(s) asset accounting
- Supporting the establishment of business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls, and supporting the development of controls across VR Group
- Being part of the automation and improvement of VR Group's financial reporting and related processes
- Supporting peers, management and other stakeholders in various financial topics
- Tackling ad-hoc tasks with agility
You have
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Finance/Accounting/Economics
- Fluent written and spoken Finnish and English, Swedish is an advantage
- Experience from accounting, especially Asset Accounting, and financial reporting including development of related processes
- Experience on finance process development
- Agile and development-oriented mindset
- Good communication and cooperation skills
- Pro-active approach and solution-oriented ways of working
- Good team player spirit, and capability for working also alone
