Senior Manager, Hydrogen Business Development

The Generation division is responsible for large scale power production, physical optimization, trading activities and hydrogen development in the Nordic area. This division comprises nuclear, hydro, wind and thermal power production, portfolio management and trading, industrial intelligence, nuclear services and hydrogen development. 

About the role

We are looking for an experienced project originator and business developer to further strengthen Fortum’s Hydrogen Development team. Your main role will be to originate and manage projects until the FEED phase, whereafter you will have a commercially oriented role as the main customer and partner responsible for the projects. In addition to this, you will support the whole team with pricing strategies and business case development. Geographically, the Nordics is our main focus, with possible locations in Malmö, Solna or Espoo.

Your main tasks would be to

• Search new leads and from them originate new projects into our project pipeline
• Act as project manager from the origination phase up until the FEED study has started
• From the FEED study’s start act as project director, accountable for the customer and partner relationship as well as the commercial success of the project as well as management of the projects’ budget
• Manage relationships to project partners, suppliers, contractors, authorities and customers
• Support to execute and develop Fortum's hydrogen strategy
• Create and develop business models, pricing strategies and partnering options
• Support the whole hydrogen development team with business case development and evaluation and options for pricing.

What we are looking for

You have an academic degree in a relevant field such as technology or business and at least 10 years of experience in business development and origination, whereof several in the hydrogen field. You have well developed commercial skills, including business case development and calculations as well as pricing strategy development on project and portfolio level. You need to have strong leadership, collaboration and project management skills. Furthermore, you have strong problem solving and analytical skills, proven negotiation skills, commercial thinking and the ability to create and execute strategies from scratch. You are fluent in oral and written English and one other Nordic language. Additional language skills are a plus.
