Senior UI/UX Designer, Alma News Media

Want to create media that reach millions of people every week?

We are seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer with strong visual design skills and an ambition for growth to join Alma News Media’s Design Team in Helsinki, Finland. Our media brands include Kauppalehti, Talouselämä, Arvopaperi, Tekniikka&Talous and Iltalehti. Your primary responsibility is to develop and design our media, including the creation and maintenance of our Media Design System, a comprehensive set of design guidelines and assets that ensure a consistent and high-quality user experience across all our platforms. 

You will 

• Develop the design system for our media brands.
• Contribute to product and design process development.
• Collaborate with the Head of Design, product managers, development teams, and other designers to create aesthetically pleasing, intuitive, and business-driven user experiences and interfaces.
• Conduct user research to identify customer needs and pain points.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to improve existing brands and create new features and products.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and user flows to communicate design ideas.
• Test and iterate designs based on feedback and data
• Mentor colleagues and improve design understanding among stakeholders

About You:

• + 5 years of experience as a UI/UX Designer, including leading design projects.
• Demonstrated design skills and thought processes through a strong portfolio. 
• Experienced in user research, design systems, and working closely with development teams.
• Strong facilitation skills
• Proficiency in design tools like Figma
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, fluency in Finnish and English.
• Previous experience working with media is advantageous.
