Do you want to see your software turn directly into machine movement? Join Vaski Group to shape the core logic of a real-world CAM system used in industrial production.
Vaski Group is looking for a Software Engineer to strengthen its system development team in Seinäjoki.
Vaski Group is a rapidly growing manufacturer of industrial machine tools, specializing in three main areas: busbar machining, sheet metal processing, and automation solutions. We combine the strengths of three established brands - Vaski, Pivatic, and Ursviken. In addition, Vaski develops and maintains its own CAM system used to program machines for punching, shearing, and bending. The CAM system is a critical part of machine functionality and the manufacturing process and is developed in close collaboration with a trusted technology partner.
What will you be doing?
In this role, you will develop the core functionality of Vaski Group's in-house CAM system. Your work focuses on how manufacturing logic, work phases, and machine behavior are modeled in the CAM system and transformed into reliable machine programs. You will design and implement machine-level logic, develop post-processors for different machine and automation configurations, and contribute to defining how new machine features are supported in the CAM environment.
You will work closely with the CAM development team and other technical stakeholders to test and validate software in real machine environments, ensuring reliable behavior in production use. Your responsibilities include analyzing and documenting issues, contributing to system specifications, and supporting the continuous development of the CAM system as machines, processes, and customer needs evolve.
The work takes place in a 3D-based CAM environment and combines C++ software development with a strong understanding of machines and manufacturing processes, including CAM core functionality, post-processing, and interfaces to machine controls and automation systems. However, the exact technologies and tools used may vary by project and your background.
What makes you a great fit?
You already have hands-on experience in software development and feel comfortable taking responsibility for technical solutions in a production-critical environment. You are curious about how software, manufacturing logic, and machines come together, and you want to understand how CAM core functionality and logic translate into real machine behavior. You enjoy working close to hardware in a practical, low-hierarchy organization where development happens in tight collaboration with automation, mechanics, and production. You value careful testing and validation as part of high-quality development and approach your work in an analytical, precise, and continuously improving way
What we expect from you:
- Experience in software development or technical application development
- Good C++ programming skills
- Strong algorithmic thinking and ability to model manufacturing and machine logic in software
- Understanding of CAM systems or manufacturing industry software
- Good English skills, written and spoken
- Suitable technical background (degree or equivalent experience)
Additionally considered an asset:
- Finnish language skills
- Experience working with machine tools or production machinery
- Knowledge of NC / CNC programming
- Understanding of manufacturing processes
- Experience with CAM core functionality or post-processor development
- Background in testing or software validation
We offer you:
- A stable, fast-growing, and international employer that is a forerunner in its field and offers the opportunity to work with technically demanding, high-end products
- A versatile hands-on role involving the opportunity to work close to real machines and see your code directly drive production outcomes
- The opportunity to build deep expertise in CAM systems while taking real ownership of meaningful features in a production-critical system
- A low-hierarchy environment where decisions are practical, and collaboration is genuinely close
- A comprehensive benefits package including medical expense, travel, and occupational and leisure accident insurance, as well as wellbeing, lunch, and mobile phone benefits
Practicalities:
This is a full-time and permanent position, and you will be employed directly by Vaski Group. This role is based in Seinäjoki, and we're looking for a locally based Software Engineer who enjoys on-site collaboration and flexible hybrid working. Occasional international travel is part of the role, mainly related to project handovers. The starting date is flexible and can be agreed upon with the selected candidate.
