Software Testing Engineer

NAPCON business unit is a developer of high tech ICT, process data, operator training and advanced process control solutions for heavy industries. We in NAPCON lead the process industry to a safe and sustainable future.

We are looking for a Software Testing Engineer to join our NAPCON in Porvoo or Espoo.

We offer you a challenging role with interesting and varied tasks in a multicultural start-up type environment. As a member of the NAPCON team, you are an integral part of quality assurance for next-generation training simulators and dynamic plant optimization solutions.

In this role, you will

• Develop software testing processes
• Test our internal software products develop in NAPCON
• Build and maintain software testing and demo environments
• Develop manual and automated testing practices including testing plans, test execution and test reporting

As our working mode is agile and organization lean you will have the opportunity to work closely with our other NAPCON development teams. Our work combines accountability, cooperation, and the desire to develop and renew. Working safely at all times is essential to all of us. 

Keys to success in this role

The best combination of experiences, skills and background is

• Knowledge of commonly used testing tools such as NUnit-framework
• Understanding of DevOps practices and commonly used CI tools like Jenkins
• Knowledge of software testing practices, methodologies and terms
• Eagerness to improve software excellence by developing effective software testing practices, processes and tools
• Good cooperation and documentation skills to work with software developers

We also value

• Familiarity with C#/.NET, WPF, Python, C++ or similar programming languages
• Applicable education (e.g. BBA, Computer science or  BSc. of Software development)

The position is based in Kilpilahti, Porvoo or Espoo. We arrange free, fast and flexible bus transportation to Kilpilahti for our employees from Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa and Porvoo to our office in Kilpilahti. Remote work is possible in Finland.
