We are now looking for an Integration Data Architect to join our VR IT team in Helsinki.

As part of the VR IT Solutions Integration Team, you will shape how data flows across the enterprise. Your work directly supports better customer experiences, more efficient operations, and more sustainable services.

Your Role

As an Integration Data Architect, you will play a central role in designing and governing how data is structured, exposed, and used across integrations.

A key responsibility is to own the data products that power VR's integrations. These form the foundation for APIs, events, and data pipelines connecting core business systems.

You will ensure that data models and interfaces are:

  • Aligned with real business processes
  • Consistent, scalable, and secure
  • Designed to enable high-quality, reusable integrations

You will work closely with architects, developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders in line with our values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and develop integration-driven data products, including schemas, canonical models, and data contracts
  • Design and maintain high-quality data models for APIs, messaging, and event-driven solutions
  • Define and govern API standards, including REST and OpenAPI specifications.
  • Ensure that data products and integrations accurately reflect business processes and domain logic
  • Design integration solutions using APIs, JSON-based interfaces, messaging, and ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Establish shared standards, reusable patterns, data model lifecycle management and best practices across teams
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, governance, and security - reflecting our value We Care
  • Collaborate closely with business and technical teams to translate processes into structured data models
  • Guide teams in improving data modelling, API design, and integration practices

You will help connect key platforms such as ERP, CRM, HR, payroll, data platforms, cloud services, and external partner ecosystems.

Experience and Skills

You bring strong expertise in designing data structures and interfaces that enable reliable and scalable integrations.

Core competencies:

  • Strong experience in data modelling (logical, physical, and canonical models)
  • Hands-on expertise with:
    • JSON and schema design
    • REST APIs and OpenAPI specifications
    • API design principles and best practices
  • Experience designing and owning data products used in integrations
  • Ability to model data based on business processes and domain understanding
  • Good understanding of end-to-end business processes (e.g. customer, logistics, operational flows)
  • Experience with integration patterns, including APIs, messaging, and event-driven architecture
  • Experience with ETL/ELT and data pipelines
  • Strong SQL and database skills

You have

  • A university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in integration, software development, or data-related roles
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A collaborative mindset aligned with We Work Together

  • Fluent language skills in Finnish and English (Swedish is considered an advantage)
